内側から生まれたもの

How are you doing?　みなさま、今年もよりいっそう暑い夏ですが、いかがお過ごしでしょうか？　今回は連載第9回目ということで、早速テーマ発表からしていきましょう！

今回のテーマは“作ること”について、いろいろと綴っていこうかなと思っております。

まず初めに、自分にとって“作ること”とはその生み出されたものの親となること。単なる表現活動ではなく、自分の心をアイデアを作品を、外の世界につなぐ、共有することかなと思っております。音楽も、ダンスも、グッズのプロデュースやたまにするアートワークだったり、ファッションもそうですし、そのすべてが「自分の内側から生まれたものを誰かに届けたい」という気持ちから始まっているのかなと、テーマについて考えたときに浮かびましたね。

人生そのものがインスピレーション

ここからはアイデアについて話したいのですが、自分にとってアイデアを出すことは、何もないところから生み出す、一番難しい0→1の作業なんですよね。いいアイデアがあるからこそ、世に出せるような作品になるわけで。

よくラジオやインタビューなどで、「どこからアイデアが生まれたり、インスピレーションを受けるの？」と聞かれることがあるのですが、自分は特別な場所や時間があるわけではなくて、むしろ何も考えずに過ごしているときに突然ひらめくことが多いんですよね。散歩をしているとき、移動中、友達と遊んでいるとき、映画やドラマやアニメを観ているとき。

そういう日常の何気ない瞬間に、無意識に自分の心が反応してメロディや言葉が降りてくることがあるんです。かっこよく言えば、自分の人生そのものがインスピレーション。ですね。カッケー。ハハハ。

浮かんだアイデアは、できるだけ逃さないようにすぐスマホのメモやボイスレコーダーを使って残しています。たとえどんなに小さな断片でも、とりあえず記録しておく。いつか、後から見返したときに「このひと言から、この部分のメロディーから曲が作れるかも」と思えることがあるからです。だから自分にとって、メモ帳やボイスレコーダーは、持ち運び可能なミニ宝箱みたいな存在になっております。本当、世の中便利になったおかげでこうしてすぐアイデアを残すことができる。ありがたいですね。

「自由に感じてほしい」

続きまして、自分が作品を作るときに大切にしていることについてなのですが。一番大切にしているのは、“ノンフィクション”です。日本語で簡潔に言うと正直であること、リアルな心中、ですかね。

流行に乗りたいとか、誰々がこれで売れたから自分もそうするとか、そういう外側の理由で作るのではなく、まず自分が心から感じたものを素直に表現する。そうすれば必ず誰かに届くと信じています。

もちろん欲を言えばたくさん売れたいし、大きい会場でたくさんの歓声を浴びたい。ミュージシャンなら誰もがそう思うのですが、だからといって本業で自分を偽って流行りに乗ったりはしたくないんですね。

売れたい欲も、大きい会場でライブがしたい欲も本心なので、その正直な部分を自分色にしっかり作品に詰め込むのです。

自分の作品として世の中に出す以上、「完成度」や「クオリティ」がとても重要です。でも、それ以上に「自分が本当に心から表したいことを作れているか」を常に問いかけています。自分に嘘をついて作ったものは、聴いてくれる人にも伝わらないと思うからです。なので、最近はノンフィクションの要素の中にどれだけフィクションらしい作品が作れるかも考えています。

これは1stアルバムのジャケ写撮影時ですが、このように何事も自分自身がチェックすることを心がけております。

作品を受け取る側にどう感じて欲しいかも伝えたいので綴ります。自分の作品を聴いてくれる人や、パフォーマンスを観てくれる人には、これも曲を出したときやライブのときに何回か言ってるとは思うのですが、とにかく「自由に感じてほしい」と思っています。まさに十人十色で、感じ方や捉え方なんてもっと何通りもあるわけで。

ただ全てに共通して言えるのは、自分の作品で少しでも何かしらの＋（ポジティブ）になればいいと思っています。感動して泣いてもいいし、笑ってもいいし、「なんだか元気になった」というだけでもいい。自分がコントロールするのではなく、その人自身の人生や感情と重ね合わせてもらえたらうれしいです。

作品は作り手が完成させるのではなく、受け手が触れて初めて完成するのかなと、毎回作ったあとじゃなくて、世に出たあとに感じるので。作品は、受け取ってくれたときに完成を感じることが出来ます。これからも届けさせてください。みなさま、ありがとうございます。

MASHIHOというジャンルを確立させたい

これから挑戦したいことは、引き続き本業のアーティスト・MASHIHOとして少しでも早く、自分のジャンルを確立させること。それをできるように、努めます。

というのは、自分のことを知ってる人も知らない人も、MASHIHOって名前を聞いたときに「あぁ！　あのMASHIHOね」「MASHIHOって、あのMASHIHO？」って、誰もが思うようなアーティストになることです。マイケル・ジャクソンは、マイケル・ジャクソンにしか出せない味とオーラで、世の中を駆け巡った。自分も、自分にしか出せない味とオーラで世の中を駆け巡ります。なので、これから挑戦したいことというよりこれからも継続させていきたいお話になりました。てへっ。

これから挑戦したいことは、その都度思いつきだったり、パッと出てきたりするので、たとえば、急に役者してるやん！ってなったら、「あ、役者挑戦してみたんだ、観てみよ。」で、お願いします。笑

How are you doing?

This summer has been especially hot, but I hope everyone is doing well.

Since this is already the 9th entry, let’s jump right into this month’s theme!

The theme this time is “Creating”.

For me, “creating” means becoming the parent of whatever is born. It’s not just about artistic expression, but more about connecting my heart, my ideas, and my works to the outside world and sharing them.

Whether it’s music, dance, producing goods, doing artwork from time to time, or even fashion—it all comes from the same feeling: I want to deliver what’s born inside me to someone else. That was the first thought that came to mind when I sat with this theme.

Now, about ideas.

To me, ideas are the hardest part—going from 0 to 1. Nothing can exist without them. A song or a piece only becomes real if there’s a good idea at its core.

I often get asked in interviews or on radio shows: “Where do your ideas come from? What inspires you?” The truth is, I don’t have any special place or time. Actually, they often come when I’m not thinking at all—while walking, on the move, hanging out with friends, or watching a movie, drama, or anime. In those ordinary moments, something inside me reacts unconsciously, and a melody or words suddenly come down.

If I were to put it simply and a little dramatically—my life itself is my inspiration. Haha, sounds cool, right?

Whenever inspiration comes, I try not to let it slip away. I immediately jot it down on my phone or record it with a voice memo. Even if it’s just a fragment, I keep it. Because when I look back later, I might think, “This phrase, this melody could turn into a song.”

That’s why my memo app and voice recorder feel like little treasure chests I can carry around. Thanks to how convenient the world has become, I can capture ideas instantly—and I’m grateful for that.

Next, I’d like to talk about what I value most when creating.

The number one thing is “non-fiction.” In other words: being honest, being real.

I don’t want to create something just because it’s trending, or because someone else succeeded with that style. What matters most is expressing what I truly feel. If I do that, I believe it will reach someone’s heart.

Of course, I also want my work to sell and to perform in big venues with lots of cheers—what musician wouldn’t? But even then, I don’t want to fake myself to follow trends. That desire to succeed is also real, so I turn those feelings into my own color and put them into my work.

As long as I’m putting something out into the world as my work, “completion” and “quality” are very important. But even more important is asking myself: Am I really expressing what I truly want to express?

If I lie to myself, that lie won’t reach the listeners either.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how to create works that may look fictional but still carry non-fiction at the core.

This is from my 1st album cover shoot. I always try to check things myself, no matter what.

Now, about how I want people to feel when they receive my work.

I’ve said this before at shows or when releasing music, but the biggest thing is: I want you to feel free.

Everyone feels differently—ten people, ten colors, and really even more ways of interpreting.

But the one thing I hope for all is that my work adds some kind of positive to your life.

You can cry, you can laugh, you can just feel a little stronger—that’s all fine. I don’t want to control that. I just hope you can overlap it with your own life and emotions.

I feel that a work isn’t truly complete when I finish making it, but when it’s received by someone else. That’s when it really comes alive.

So please let me keep delivering my works to you. Thank you so much, always.

As for what I want to challenge myself with next—

I’ll keep striving as an artist, MASHIHO, to establish my own genre as soon as possible.

What I mean is, whether someone knows me or not, when they hear the name “MASHIHO,” I want them to instantly say:“Ah, that MASHIHO.”

Michael Jackson conquered the world with a unique flavor and aura only he could bring.

I want to do the same, with my own taste and aura.

So it’s not so much a new challenge, but more like something I’ll keep working on. Tehe.

Of course, challenges also come to me unexpectedly. So one day, if you suddenly see me acting in a drama, I hope your reaction will be:

“Oh, he’s acting now? Let’s check it out.” Haha.
