国内はもちろん、そのフィールドを海外へと広げて活躍するソロアーティスト・MASHIHO。この連載では、これまで楽曲やステージ上のパフォーマンスを通じて、その魅力をお届けしてきた彼の“頭の中”をのぞく。

第4回のテーマは、2月に訪れた台北について。

幸せを感じた台北公演

お久しぶりです。連載第4弾が始まりますよおおお。

今回は2月に行った台北についていろいろと語っていこうと思います。今回も最後までしっかりお読みくださいませ。

まず、台北での『“4 my clovers” Valentine’s Special Fan Meeting in Taipei』の感想を少し綴らせてください。台北へ行くこと自体が初めてだったので、行く前からときめいていました。現地に着いてすぐ、街並みを見て感じたのが“日本のお店が多い！”ということ。なので、初の海外旅行に行く方にもってこいの国だなと思いました。

ファンミーティングの日は、リハーサルの時点からまだ開場時間でもないのに並んで待っている方々もいて、たまに窓からあいさつもしながらリハーサルを行い、受付時間になったらグッズもたくさん買っていただき、本当にうれしい時間がずっと続いていました。

そして迎えた本番はといいますと、スタートから感情が高ぶったままフルスロットルでパフォーマンスをさせていただきました。真剣に聴くときは聴いていただき、テンションを上げてほしいときはしっかりバイブス高めで盛り上げていただき、本当に幸せな一日でありました。

自分が話せる少しの中国語で毎回歓声ももらって、みんなの温かさを心と身体全身で感じられました。本番の初めからちょくちょく音響のタイミングや、写真撮影のときも少しあたふたしてバタついていたのですが、みんなが静かに待っていてくださり、本当にありがたかったです。とにかく台北の方々は親切で温厚な人が多いと感じました。台北にいた数日間、とても有意義で落ち着いた日々を過ごさせていただきました。

たくさんの愛をありがとうございます。

サプライズも最高に感動しました。みんなが協力して作ってくれたビデオ映像、しっかり見させていただきました。これからも愛を捧げていきたいと思います。

人々や街並みから感じた魅力

そしてそして、自分が個人的に感じた街などの台北の印象といいますか、魅力的な部分はですね、街にゴミが少ないです。屋台などのお店も多いのにポイ捨てがほとんどないんですよね。

あと何回も言いますが、人がよすぎます。サービス精神が旺盛で、台北での数日間は本当に幸せに過ごさせていただきました。おもしろかったのが、コンビニやクラブ？などが近くにある道路沿いにはソファが置いてありまして……（笑）。外でベンチは普通によくありますが、外で革のソファは斬新でおもしろかったです。いっぱいのお店が空くのを待ってる人たちの溜まり場みたいに使われていましたが、とてもキレイに使われていて感心しました。そして使わないときはじゃまにならないようにしっかり整理されていて、修学旅行で先生に言われた「来たときよりも美しく」という言葉が頭をよぎりました。

台湾ファッション＆グルメも満喫！

次に台北でのファッションについても、お話ししたいです。合間の時間でいくつかセレクトショップにも行かせていただきました。基本的には、日本のセレクトショップとラインナップはそこまで変わらずだったのですが、台北のオリジナルブランドのコーナーがあって、そこで何個か台北で今キテいるブランドたちを知れて楽しかったです。

台北にいる間は、帽子とマフラーとジャケットを購入しました。帽子とマフラーはもう季節的に暑いので、今はジャケットを愛用して着ています。着てるときの写真も、いつか上げていきますので、お楽しみに。

上の写真は全然ファッションとは関係ないですが……（笑）、そういえばと思い載せます。ゲームセンターが夜中も開いていて、無人なんですよね！　すごいですよね、上の商品とか勝手に取れちゃうという（笑）。そして何回かプレイしてみたのですが、クレーンゲームのアームがこれまたおもしろくてですね。つかむパワーは強いのですが、そのあと必ずゲットする穴とは逆の方向にぶん投げるという。最高に海外を楽しめた感じがして、結果オーライでした。

続いて、台北グルメについて語りまーすっ。とにかく何を食べてもおいしかったのですが、けっこう海鮮系が多いイメージでしたね。とは言ってもお肉も麺類も満遍なく味わえました。一番おいしかったのは、小籠包とルーローハンでした。最高においしかったです。

一番印象的だったのは、臭豆腐です……。凄まじい匂いでした。みんなひとつずつ食べる流れになったので、仕方なく食べたのですが（笑）。口に入れたらそこまで匂いがしないのですが、食べる前が本当にすんごかったです。でも口に入れたあとも鼻で息をするとやばかったので、これから台湾に行かれる予定がある方々はぜひ一度臭豆腐、堪能してみてください。くれぐれもご注意を。

今月の一曲：陳芳語／Kimberley Chen「Tag me」

ではでは、最後に、オススメの台湾曲紹介で締めたいと思います。

これから盛り上がりたいとき、もってこいの曲であります。歌手のKimberley Chenさんをプロデューサーさんから教えてもらったのですが、とにかく歌がうまい。これからもっとたくさんディグって、いい曲を発見していきます。

Meaningful and peaceful time in Taipei

It’s been a while. The fourth installment is hereee.

This time, I’ll be talking all about my trip to Taipei in February.
Please read through to the end of this fourth installment as well!

First, let me share my thoughts on the Valentine Special Fan Meeting in Taipei. It was my first time visiting Taipei, so I was already excited before even arriving. And when I arrived, just looking at the sights of the city, one of my first thoughts was “There are so many Japanese stores!” So, I thought Taipei would be a perfect destination for Japanese people going on their first international trip.

On the day of the fan meeting, even during rehearsal, there were already fans lined up waiting, even though the venue hadn’t opened yet. Occasionally, I waved to them through the window while rehearsing. Once the reception opened, many fans bought merchandise, and I was truly happy throughout the entire event.

As for the actual performance, I was running on pure adrenaline from the start and gave it my all on full throttle. Everyone listened intently when needed, and hyped up the atmosphere at the right moments, making it such a joyful day. Even though I couldn’t speak the language, I received such enthusiastic cheers for even the little bit of Chinese I spoke. I truly felt everyone’s warmth with my whole heart and body. At the start of the performance, there were some small hiccups with the sound timing and photo sessions, and I got a little flustered, but everyone patiently waited, which I really appreciated. Overall, I felt that people in Taipei are incredibly kind and warm-hearted. The few days I spent there were meaningful and peaceful.

The surprise was incredibly moving. I watched the video that everyone worked together to create, and I was deeply touched. I’ll continue to pour my love into what I do.

Also also, one thing that stood out to me was how clean the city was. Even with so many food stalls and shops, there was almost no litter. And once again, I have to say—the people are just too nice. The level of hospitality was amazing, and thanks to that, I had such a happy time in Taipei. One funny thing I noticed: On roads near convenience stores and clubs(?), there were leather sofas just sitting outside. Benches outside are common, but actual leather sofas were a first for me. It seemed like a gathering spot for people waiting outside busy shops, but they were kept so clean, which I found impressive. And when not in use, they were neatly arranged so they wouldn’t be in the way. It reminded me of the saying from school trips: “Leave it cleaner than you found it.”

Next I want to talk about fashion in Taipei, but I visited a few select shops during my free time. The lineup was similar to Japanese select shops, but there were also sections featuring original Taipei brands, which I found really interesting since I got to learn about some up-and-coming Taipei fashion brands. In the end, during my stay, I bought a hat, a scarf, and a jacket. Since it’s already too warm for the hat and scarf, I’ve been loving and wearing the jacket. I’ll be posting some pictures of it soon, so stay tuned.

This picture has nothing to do with fashion, but… lol. I just had to share it. The arcades were open 24/7 and completely unmanned! That’s wild, right! I was wondering, “Can’t people just take the prizes?” And when I actually tried the claw crane, they were hilarious. The claw had a strong grip, but then it would throw the prize in the opposite direction of the winning hole. It was such a fun new experience, so it was all good!

Next, I’m going to talk about Taipei’s food. Honestly, everything I ate was delicious. Taipei gave me the impression of having a lot of seafood, but I still got to enjoy meat and noodles too. The best dishes I had were Xiaolongbao and Lu Rou Fan. They were absolutely amazing. The most memorable dish, though, was stinky tofu. The smell was intense. Everyone had to try one piece, so I had no choice but to eat it, and once it was in my mouth, the smell wasn’t too bad, but it was intense before eating it. Even after swallowing it, if I breathed through my nose, the smell was crazy, so if you’re planning to visit Taiwan, I highly recommend trying stinky tofu at least once. Proceed with caution!

Lastly, I want to close off this installment by introducing a popular Taiwanese song.

This song is perfect for when you want to get hyped up. My producer introduced me to Kimberley Chen, and she is an incredible singer. I’m excited to dig deeper and discover even more great songs.
